Partnering for a Greater Pittsburgh
and John R. McGinley Jr., Chair, Board of Directors
For 2023–2024, the period covered by this Report to the Community, The Pittsburgh Foundation’s donors, grantees and community partners, along with its Board and staff, actively worked together to realize the vision of its strategic plan: a vibrant, equitable and just Pittsburgh region that supports everyone to thrive.
In this introduction to the report, Foundation Board Chair Jack McGinley and President and CEO Lisa Schroeder discuss successes and challenges of the past year and the takeaways that will help them chart future direction. Whatever that course is, the Foundation will expand its role as partnership builder and convener to maximize opportunities for a greater Pittsburgh.
The two leaders also discuss how the Foundation’s new Downtown headquarters at the edge of the Cultural District, expected to open in early 2025, will enable staff to recruit more diverse stakeholders with whom to partner, collaborate, scheme and dream to secure a bright future for the region.
